Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. -- Matthew 11:28
People must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives (Titus 3:14). We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. (2 Thes. 3:11-12).
Jesus said, " They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them" (Mt. 23:4).
We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it (1 Cor. 4:12). We did not eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you (2 Thes. 3:8). These hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:34-35).
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody (1 Thes. 4:11-12).
Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox comes an abundant harvest (Prv. 14:4). I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will (Mt. 11:25-26). In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace. - 1 Peter 4:10
